the late Ernest (Ernie) L. Samuel. Regretfully Ernie Samuel died in May 2000 but his success in breeding and racing was continued through the magni cent efforts of his daughter, Tammy Samuel-Balaz
and her mother, Elizabeth Samuel. Sam-Son Farms had already received
60 Sovereign Awards including Canada Horse of the Year 7 times, Brood- mare of the Year 6 times, Owner of the Year 7 times and Breeder of the Year
6 times. Mr Samuel was named Canada’s Man of the Year in 1991.
To the Samuel-Balaz family, our members and directors share your losses deeply. - Sam Lima

in U.S.
Ontario breeder Brian Wallace is proud of the accomplishments of one of his homebreds, Warrior Belle.
Brian sold the now 5-year-old mare at the end of the last season to
a U.S. based trainer Lucy Webb who has had plenty of success with the War Deputy mare.
Warrior Belle has recorded 4 allowance wins in 2008 with her most recent win in track record time of :22.1 in a 5 1/2 furlong Allowance at Penn National on April 24. She nished second in each of her other two starts this season.
