NOTE PATRICK SCOTT
Patrick Scott was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1921. He studied architecture at the National University of Ireland and qualified in 1945. He has been painting since adolescence, held his first one-man show in Dublin in 1944 and has had paint- ings exhibited in London, Sweden, Germany, and North America. He is General Consultant to Signa Limited, Design Consultants. One of his paintings was selected for the Guggenheim International Award in 1958 and sent to New York where it was purchased by the Museum of Modern Art· He is represented in many private collections in Europe and America and his work, including the present subject, was chosen to represent Irish painting at the Venice Biennale in 1960.
