Bookkeeping Specialist, A.A.S.
The Bookkeeping Specialist, A.A.S. introduces students to basic accounting, the steps of the accounting
cycle, industry standard accounting system software, spreadsheet development and payroll accounting
for candidates seeking a bookkeeping clerical position: Bookkeeping Specialist, Bookkeeper Assistant,
Billing Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, Payroll Specialist or Payroll Clerk.
Emphasis is on small business setting and workforce preparation skills.
Note: This A.A.S. degree does not transfer to a 4 year B.B.A. degree in “Accounting”. The A.A.S.
transfers to a B.A.A.S. workforce credit degree with “Business emphasis,” not “Accounting” major at
Texas A&M SA. If you are planning to major in “Accounting” at a 4 year University, you need to follow
Associate of Arts “Business Administration Pre-Major Accounting” degree plan, not “Bookkeeping
Specialist, A.A.S.” “Business Administration, A.A.” transfers to a 4 year B.B.A. degree in “Accounting”.
