Mohamed Salah (June 15 - 32, Liverpool, Egypt)
Mohamed Salah is regarded as one of the best players
of his generation and among the greatest African players of all time. Salah is predominantly known for his speed, movement, clinical finishing, agility, dribbling skills, first touch, and ball control, as well as his ability to use both his pace and flair on the ball to beat opponents, and create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates. Salah is nicknamed “The Pharaoh” by the press and his fans. He has also been given the nickname “Egyptian King” by Liverpool supporters, arising from a chant set to the tune of “Sit Down” by English indie rock band James.

Lionel Messi has won a record eight Ballon d’Or awards, a record six European Golden Shoes, and was named the world’s best player for a record eight times by FIFA. He is the most decorated player in the history of professional football, with 44 team trophies. Until 2021, he had spent his entire professional career with Barcelona, where
he won a club-record 34 trophies, including ten La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey titles, and the UEFA Champions League four times. Playing for Argentina’s national team, he won two Copa América titles and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Kevin De Bruyne (June 28 - 33, Man. City, Belgium)
De Bruyne is one of the best and most complete modern day advanced playmakers due to his technique, skill, vision, crossing accuracy, wide range of passing, and powerful long-range shooting ability with either foot. The Belgian was ranked the fourth-best footballer in the world by The Guardian in 2017 and the twelfth-best in 2019.
In 2020, his Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola described him as the best midfielder in the world. As City chased The Treble in the 2022–23 season, Jamie Redknapp said that De Bruyne was the best Premier League midfielder he had seen, ranking him above the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
Alex Morgan (July 2 - 35, San Diego Wave FC, USWNT)
Alex Morgan is a legend in the women’s game, having scored more than 200 goals across her professional career, won two World Cups and an Olympic gold medal for her country. In 2017, Morgan signed with French team Lyon, winning the continental European treble, which included the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Morgan appeared alongside Lionel Messi on the cover of FIFA 16 sold in the United States. She was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019 and 2022.
Megan Rapinoe (July 5 - 39, OL Reign, USWNT)
Megan Rapinoe spent most of her career playing for OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. Winner of the Ballon d’Or Féminin and named The Best FIFA Women’s Player in 2019, Rapinoe won gold with the national team at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and played at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the U.S. finished second. Rapinoe co-captained the national team alongside Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan from 2018 to 2020.
