This is possibly. chalice o r . ewer. There is a central cordon around the middle of the object The upper part is missing, having been corroded or damaged on the site. The decoration is very similar to the plate BA T 3432, with four cartouches, one being the same stag hunt as on the plate. Another cartouche has a fox hunt, and was possibly the theme of the missing scene of the plate. The engraved surrounding decoration has what looks likes a chimerical beast, possibly a wyvem or a cockatrice to- gether with vegetal scrolled foliage.
