The Cloth
We carry a huge selection of shirting in a plethora
of colours, designs and qualities from some of the world’s leading cloth manufacturers. These include British mills such as Thomas Mason, D & J Anderson and Acorn; the celebrated Swiss mill Alumo; Italian mills Albini, Testa, Atelier Romentino and Monti
and the Northern Irish mills Thomas Ferguson and Spence Bryson. We also hold a fine range of West Indian Sea Island Cottons.
The Budd Stripe
Budd’s exclusive Edwardian blue stripe shirt was originally designed in the 1920s when it was woven in silk. The design of an equal width blue and white stripe is enhanced by the addition of a fine black line to bring the pattern to life. Traditionally, the stripe was revised as a special edition for the shop every ten years. However in 2010 it was decided that the shirting was so popular that it should become part
of our regular stock. Today it is made in cotton rather than silk and comes in 5 colours.
