Coastal Grasslands is designed as a native seed mix for areas west of
the Coastal mountain range from northern California to Southern BC. These areas are comprised of fine-textured nutrient-rich soils that will support a lush and diverse meadow community. It is an excellent native grass mix encompassing the transitional areas of emerging wetlands, and provides excellent biofiltration in naturally vegetated swales.

Marsh is comprised of wetland species specifically suited to areas that are saturated with water, either permanently or seasonally. These wetlands take on characteristics that distinguish it as a distinct ecosystem. The primary factor that distinguishes wetlands is the plants that are adapted to the unique soil conditions. Marsh mix is best used on subsets of wetlands including swamps, marshes, and bogs. Wetlands play a number of roles in the environment, principally water purification, flood control, and shoreline stability. Marsh mix will add to the biologically diversity of all wetland ecosystems, serving as home to a wide range of aquatic fauna and their unique needs.

Native Swale is used in natural bioswales, broad, shallow channels, densely planted with a variety of trees, shrubs, and grasses, designed to attenuate and in some cases infiltrate runoff from adjacent impervious surfaces, allowing pollutants to settle out in the process. Sunmark’s Native Swale mix has been designed specifically for this use. It is comprised of native species that establish quickly and provide phytoremediation of stormwater.
