PLAYERS CHOICETM PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERED SOIL MIXES
DR
Players ChoiceTM DR 4.6 PROFESSIONAL Grade Infield Soil Mix is our tightest, inventoried material. DR 4.6 works well as a professional mix with an ideal SCR (silt, clay ratio) of .6. A professional degree of grounds maintenance is required for this mixture.
*Infield soil test results and specifications available upon request
Specifications: 1 CY equals approximately 1.16 tons Availability: Bulk delivery or pickup only

Players ChoiceTM DR 5.5 High INTERMEDIATE Grade Infield Soil Mix is our most popular engineered soil mix, graded as our “high intermediate” material. DR 5.5 is designed for colleges, high schools, and municipal facilities that host a large number of events. On-site water is important to maintain proper resiliency with this mixture. A tight mix for an intermediate, DR 5.5 boasts an excellent SCR .5, which makes it an excellent, all season material.

Players ChoiceTM DR 6.4 RECREATIONAL Grade Infield Soil Mix is
an excellent engineered soil mix designed for fields that do not receive daily maintenance. This material will be great for the park and rec, junior school, and neighborhood fields that get a high amount of play and traffic without the attention and care of a dedicated maintenance effort. This mixture will maintain a resilient surface even in drought conditions. DR 6.4 is in the “ideal” range at .4 SCR.

HOW MUCH SKINNED AREA INFIELD SOIL DO I NEED?
To determine depth of material needed to restore proper grade to your field:
1. Determine Square footage of skinned area on a baseball field or softball field
Typical Baseball:
Typical Softball:
College or High School field – 90’ bases, 95’ infield arc – 11,300 square feet Youth League: Grass infield – 60’ bases, 50’ infield arc – 3,530 square feet Skinned infield 6,460 square feet
55’ arc to outfield grass – 11,440 square feet
60’ arc to outfield grass – 11,190 square feet
65’ arc to outfield grass – 11,975 square feet
2. Multiply the square footage of the skinned area by the decimal equivalent of the volume of material needed
(example – 2”: 2/12=.1667; 4”: 4/12=.3334; 6”: 6/12=.50) to determine cubic feet of material needed
3. Divide cubic feet by 27 to determine Cubic Yards (CY)
4. Multiply by 1.2 for 20% compaction factor (CF) – 1.3 for 30% CF
Example and Formula for Estimating Infield Soil Needs
Example: Field - High School Varsity – 11,300 square feet of skinned area, determined to be 2” low Formula: 2 / 12 = .1667 x 11,300 = 1883.4 (cubic feet) / 27 = 69.75 CY x 1.3 (CF) = 90.68 CY
