The arts continue to face the hardship and challengesbroughtonbyCOVID-19.The current crisis has put an end to live music events, theatres, festivals, arts venues and participation as we knew them. Despite the risk to survival,
artists and arts organisations have rapidly adapted to find new ways to engage with their audiences and to continue entertaining and inspiring us all. As more organisations turn to digital content to connect with audiences at home and events are adapted with new safety protocols in place, we’ve put together a list of some brilliant arts and cultural events for you to enjoy both online, and safely in person. The arts need our support now more than ever.

139th RUA (Royal Ulster Academy) Exhibition
ONLINE to 3rd January 2020
Initially opened at the Ulster Museum in October, the exhibition has had to temporarily close due to the restrictions of the pandemic. However, the exhibition can now be viewed online! The exhibition features approximately 250 exhibits from paintings and drawings, to photography, video, sculpture and more. Take a break, sit back and enjoy browsing through this stunning collection of art online.

Portico of Ards
ONLINE - 5th, 11th & 20th December
Portico of Ards have just announced a series of live music gigs before Christmas. These concerts will be broadcast live on YouTube for audiences to enjoy at home. First up is Merry Opera Everyone, a live-streamed concert by the Associate Artists alumni of Northern Ireland Opera, who will be performing some festive classics as well as music from their repertoire. Acclaimed Irish pianist John O’Connor is joining Portico for a celebration of Beethoven’s finest work and performing a series of sonatas live-streamed
