The Full moon in January falls on the 18th in the emotional watery sign of Cancer.
Cancer is a water sign represented by the
crab. This water creature easily flows through
the water and onto the shore which represents
its ability to exist in both emotional and
material realities. Cancers are highly intuitive
and self-protective - shielded by their hard
shell. At first Cancers may seem cold and
distant but once they get comfortable with you, you will see a much gentler and caring side of them (showing their soft centre).
Cancer is ruled by The Moon so being in its natural placement, it’s very happy but then this means it is going to have an even stronger pull on our emotions this full moon, making you feel like you want to retreat inside your shell and become a hermit for a bit.
SO how can you harness this month's moon's energy? Take a step back and evaluate your emotions. Is there something you’ve been putting off to deal with? Or do you just need to take some time to be on your own, curl up with a good book and retreat for a bit?. This could be simple as taking a nice hot bubble bath, grabbing a cup of hot cocoa and reading a book in a cosy chair. Putting that face mask on that you brought weeks ago and never having the time to use it. Pamper, Indulge that soft gooey centre of yours.
As this time of year is all about family for most people, please don’t forget yourself! You deserve some ‘me’ time alongside running around like a headless chicken getting everything ready for christmas day.
Also performing some protection magick can be good at this time. Make that protective shell of yours even harder. Don’t forget to ground yourself after any magickal/spiritual exercises.
