Spirit Boards are a form of physical mediumship going back many years.
Spirit Boards should only be used with people who are experienced in their safe use.
Before you venture onto using the Spirit Board outside of a recognised group it is advisable that you gain experience over many sessions, this is to ensure you are experienced enough to understand the board and it’s safety guidelines.
Spirit Boards can be a fun and exciting way to connect with spirits, but when used improperly, you can invite very negative, unwelcome spirits into your home, please remember ‘It is not a game’.
There are plenty of horror movies that use Ouija boards, usually involving teenagers who unwittingly summon an unfriendly demon, (generally with a ridiculous script!). But the history of the Ouija board itself is more complicated and fascinating than Hollywood makes it out to be. It involves ancient Roman sacrifices, coffin-makers, sister spiritualists, and a murder trial - and that's before you even touch its occult reputation.
The popularity of the ‘Ouija’ board itself dates back to its first introduction onto the American market in the 1890s, but the idea behind it is far older. And it's had a tumultuous time ever since it first arrived.
If you've never used an ‘Ouija’ board, it's a type of "talking or spirit board." It has a series of letters and numbers on it, and users put their fingers on a planchette, a small piece of wood, metal or glass. The theory is that spiritual forces will "push" peoples' fingers on the planchette towards particular letters and numbers to spell messages and communicate with the afterlife.
It has many names:- ‘Ouija Board’, Talking Board, Spirit Board, Angel Board - They are all the same - notwithstanding the picture printed on them. Whether you believe in the spiritual world or not, the Ouija board is an incredibly interesting object.
