3. choose your course at the bauhaus
You made it! You are in the Bauhaus! It is time to choose what you want to study. Alas, female students don’t have many choices. Though the Bauhaus preaches inclusivity, women are allowed entrance into only a couple of classes, including the bookmaking studio and the weaving workshop. Which do you choose?
bookmaking?
Sadly, the same year you enroll in the Bauhaus, the bookmaking workshop is shut down. You never acquire the skills and are not given the choice to enroll in a different class. You lose your place in the Adventure of Modern Art.
weaving?
Yes! Choosing the weaving workshop will please Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius, who believes that men can think in three dimensions while women can only handle two! Years later, you will challenge that notion by creating free-hanging textile room dividers, described by many as three-dimensional sculptures. Suck it, Walter Gropius!
