Eusebio da Silva Ferreira was one of the most exciting footballers I've ever seen though I never saw him in the flesh, unlike many other Sunderland fans. On 14th November 1963 his club Benfica were lured to Roker Park by a £10,000 fee to play a friendly against Sunderland, who were then fighting for promotion from the old Division Two.
