 UNITED AIRLINES APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF SALES U.K. AND IRELAND
United Airlines has appointed Karolien De Hertogh as Director of Sales U.K. & Ireland, effective 15th February 2023. De Hertogh brings more than 15 years of industry experience to her new role, taking over from Bob Schumacher.
De Hertogh, who will report to
Managing Director International
Sales, Marcel Fuchs, will be responsible for spearheading United’s overall sales strategy in the U.K. and Ireland.
United is scheduled to introduce a new daily nonstop seasonal service between Shannon Airport and Chicago O’Hare, starting 26th May 2023, as well as a second daily flight from Dublin to New York/Newark for the summer
   SILVER LINE EXTENSION NOW OPEN
The new Silver Line extension of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail expansion project officially opened in November 2022.
The new section of the Silver Line connects Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia to downtown Washington DC, as well as to destinations further in Virginia.
Numerous Virginia attractions, including some of its more than 330 wineries, 300 plus craft breweries, distilleries, shopping and farm-to-table dining are now more easily accessible by rail. Fares from $6 during the week and $2 during the weekend.
NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM NOW REOPEN
Having reopened in October 2022 with eight brand new exhibitions, the National Air and Space Museum is a must-visit on any trip to Washington DC.
The museum is the most visited in DC and exhibitions include the Wright Brothers and the Invention of the Aerial Age where visitors can see the historic Wright Flyer and Destination Moon, featuring artefacts
such as Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit and the Apollo 11 Command Module.
There are a further 15 renovated exhibits set to open in the museum over the next three years. Entry to the museum is free.

     United Airlines has also expanded the role of its Dublin based sales team which will now additionally be responsible for United’s sales across Scotland.
United Airlines has served both Scotland and Ireland for almost 25 years. From Scotland, the airline offers a year-round daily service from Edinburgh to New York/ Newark and seasonal services to Washington D.C. and Chicago O’Hare.
