INVICTUS GAMES TO BE HELD IN CANADA
Vancouver and Whistler are celebrating the success of their bid to host the Invictus Games in 2025.
Canada is the first country to have proposed an innovative hybrid model for the Invictus Games. Vancouver and Whistler’s successful bid means these Games will be the first to incorporate winter adaptive sports, in addition to some of the core sports from previous Invictus Games.
“Adding snow and ice sports to the mix in Vancouver and Whistler will be transformative for the Invictus Games, making them more diverse than ever. These new fields of play will introduce us to athletes who have never before competed at an Invictus Games,” said Royce Chwin, President and CEO of Destination Vancouver.
“The Invictus Games honours athletes who stepped forward to serve their countries and who were transformed by their experiences,” he continued. “Competing in our legacy venues against the iconic backdrops of Vancouver and Whistler will be a spectacular showcase for their achievements.”
True Patriot Love is partnering with the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia and First Nations in Vancouver and Whistler to ensure the Invictus Games 2025 will be the most innovative and accessible Games held to date.
