I also had the opportunity to catch up with Anton Fenyk who is on placement here at CAV for 10 weeks working in the
design team, here is what he had to say about working
at CAV:
Why did you choose to come to CAV?
I spent one week at CAV on work experience in 2016 and it was during this week that I gained an interest in civil aviation. I have
just finished my third year at Loughborough University studying aeronautical engineering and will be heading back in September to do my masters. During my summer I wanted to gain some extra experience, so I contacted Laura and she put me in contact with the design team. I am doing
a ten-week placement now working alongside the design team. I really enjoy the supportive and friendly atmosphere here at CAV, everyone is always willing to help and answer any questions.

What do you like to do outside of work/university?
In my free time, I am an avid drone flyer and love to race drones and do aerial photography both solo and with friends. At university this year I was the Team Leader of Loughborough UAV, a university sponsored extracurricular drone project competing annually in the IMechE UAS challenge. This year we managed to come fourth out of 32 international teams with our innovative drone ‘Odonata, also taking
the best design award’. I would definitely recommend joining a society at university!
What do you hope to do in the future?
After university, I aspire to work in the civil aviation market hopefully continuing at CAV systems or moving to Airbus, Bombardier or National Composites Centre. There is a lot of momentum due to current events to bolster national security, therefore I am also considering careers in defence with BAE Systems, QinetiQ or Leonardo’.
