 Durham Miners’ Gala
9th July - 8.30am - Market Place, Durham
Finally making its long awaited return, after two years of cancellations, Durham Big Meeting is finally back. Celebrate County Durham’s heritage by joining in with the processions of the union banners, down to the riverside to join in the carnival. There will be plenty of food stalls and fairground rides available to entertain the children, while you browse the stalls and listen to the speeches. Durham Brass
10th July - 7.30pm - Various Locations
For the first time in two years, Durham Brass is making a return. International brass artists will all convene in our city for 10 days of music and celebration. Book tickets for live performances via the Durham Brass website (brassfestival.co.uk) or simply wander round the city and take advantage of the many free performances that are put on around the market square, in the millennium place and other notable landmarks. On top of the international artists, you will also be able to watch some amazing local talent, as well as the colliery bands!
Durham City Run
15th July - 7.20pm - Durham City
Take part in an amazing race with an incredible backdrop, when you book your space on the Durham 10k Run. Navigate the cobbled streets, guided by the River Wear, all the way up to the beckoning site of the Cathedral and finishing at the Millennium Place. Durham County Canine Association 16th July - 10am - Burnhopeside Hall, Lanchester
Come along to the show and help raise some money for the Great North Air Ambulance! Alongside the main event, the Kennel Club Premier Open Show, there are classes for pedigree, crossbreed, novelty, obedience and handling, with rosettes and prizes up for grabs. You can also check out the trading stands, a carting exhibition and have a go at some agility training. Little Lindi Family Festival

As the name suggests, Little Lindi is the ultimate family friendly festival. Complete with art workshops, dance drumming, break dance and meditation, there is nothing the organisers of this festival haven’t thought of. The festival is broken up into 5 main areas, accommodating every attendees individual needs and providing fun for the whole family.
