Painted Turnpike On His Way To Winning Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown
Painted Turnpike wins the $213,500 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park on May 30.
Painted Turnpike wins the $86,890 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 by 1 1/4-lengths at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 25.
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown awards two Champions - The Triple Crown Champion and The High Point Champion. 2015 marks the fourth year of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown.
The first leg was the $213,500 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity, the richest Paint & Appaloosa Futurity in the world, and was won by Painted Turnpike (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-High Class Turnpike, Royal Quick Flash) at Remington Park on May 30.
The two-year-old Paint colt most recently won the second leg in the $86,890 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 25.
His next stop will be the trials to the third leg in the $100,000 estimated Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Lone Star Park in October. Painted Turnpike is owned by Nolan D. Pevehouse, trained by Matt Whitekiller,
and was ridden by Cody Smith in both races.
If Painted Turnpike wins the third leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa
Triple Crown, his owner will be awarded the title to a 3-horse Gooseneck 4-Star Trailer, a $35,000 discount toward the purchase of a SportChassis, LLC heavy-duty truck, a trophy and a buckle.
Even if he does not win the third leg, Painted Turnpike will likely be named the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Champion.
Painted Turnpike currently has 20 points from his victories in the first two legs, although two other horses - Bull and Psychedelic Scott - both have 17 points at the end of the second leg and are in contention.
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Champion awards points according to finishing positions in each race, and the winner will receive additional awards including a $5,000 cash bonus.
