Q: What is your favorite thing about living where you live?
A: Arizona is the perfect place for me because of the weather. I’m a desert rat and love the heat. I grew up in Oklahoma and had to
walk to school in the snow. I live in Thatcher, Arizona, now and the weather is very mild. No tornados to speak of, no floods and if it snows, it hardly ever sticks.
Q: If you could sit down and visit with anyone past or present, who would it be?
A: The love of my life, my soulmate, my husband Wayne Brasher.
Q: What drink would your friends describe you as and why?
A: Well, I’m not a drinker, but I do love the occasional “girls’ night out” and a margarita.
Q: Who’s your favorite athlete of all time, and why?
A: Secretariat. His record will never be broken.
Q: If you were making a movie about yourself, who would you cast to play you and why?
A: Bette Midler. She’s little and feisty . . . like me! Ha! Ha!
Q: If you could travel anywhere on the planet, where would it be and what would you do there?
I’ve done a lot of traveling actually, when
I was younger, and I was the typical
tourist. I want to see and do everything I can because I know I most likely won’t be there again. I’ve never taken a cruise because I get sea sick, but I think I could do a river cruise where I could see the
land on each side. Also, I’d love to see the Greek Isles.
Q: What’s one thing you don’t like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: Wow, just one? Politics, I guess. I hate the way our industry is being portrayed right now. A few bad apples are messing it up for the rest of us. We have the rules in place to handle most of it, but it’s always the politics that get in the way.
Q: What’s one thing you like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: It’s the family. The people and horses, it’s our life. The smells, the sounds, the victories and defeats. We all stand together through the good and the bad. It’s the industry we love. It’s the American Quarter Horse, racing down that track. It’s the winner’s circle after with hugs all around. It’s family.
