SEND ME GOOD CANDY

Send Me Good Candy notched the first stakes victory of her career proving best in the 350-yard $19,800 Miss Ellen Stakes at Will Rogers Downs on Sept. 11.
Trained by Clinton Crawford and ridden by Ivan Carnero, the 3-year-old filly was out on the lead
at the break from the 4-gate. She dueled early and edged clear late to win by 3/4-length in a wire-to- wire game effort. Send Me Good Candy stopped the timer in :17.840, earning an 86 speed index and the $11,592 winner’s share of the purse.

Send Me Good Candy is now a winner in two of nine career starts and has earned a total bankroll of $146,757. In addition to this stakes score, Send Me Good Candy finished second in the 2015 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity-RG2, was fourth in this year’s May 29 Jack Brook Stakes at Remington Park, and was a finalist in the 2015 Ruidoso Juvenile.

Crawford also sent out Furr Flyin Floozi (Furrtreous-No Snoozin Floozie) who finished a close second under Cody Smith in just her third lifetime start. The 6-year-old sorrel mare is owned by Jalen Pugh. Four-time winner Just Coronation (Coronas Prospect-Nocoronajustbud) battled early and held third under Jesus Salazar. Her connections include owner Sergio A. Covarrubias and trainer Jose Aguilera. Dreams Of Foose (Foose-Coronas Dream), Ting Ting Tac (Tac It Like A Man-Jess Because

Sent to post at odds of 30-1, Star Power Intent ApHC rewarded his connections with an upset victory in the $20,825 Lorelei Paint & Appaloosa Derby-G1 at Will Rogers Downs on Oct. 1.
Star Power Intent went 400 yards on a fast track in :19.919 while scoring his fourth win and first stakes score. Paul Nieto rode Star Power Intent for owner Oscar Nunez, who also trains the bay gelding.
Star Power Intent’s margin of victory was 1/2-length from heavy favorite Painted Turnpike. The gelding was bred in Kansas by Daniel Grotheer out of winner Power Buggy. The gelding traces back to his third dam, Barb’s Bug, a two-time futurity winner in Texas in 1976.
A two-time claiming winner during the 2016 Remington Park spring meet, Star Power Intent has banked $41,259, of which $35,453 has been banked from seven outs this season. At 2, the gelding was
a finalist in the $22,925 Cricket Bars Appaloosa Futurity at Will Rogers Downs.
Runner-up Painted Turnpike APHA (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-High Class Turnpike) has won
12 of 15 starts, including nine stakes, for his owner, Nolan Pevehouse. Cody Smith rode the 2015 APHA World Champion for trainer Matt Whitekiller.
MHM Hotwire APHA (Cartel Success QH-Elaina Go Go) ran third. Whitekiller prepped and Agustin Silva rode the homebred colt, a half brother to 2016 Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1 winner CRM Radio Flyer, for owners Dan and Kaye Jones.
Copper Snow APHA (SM Country Snowman-A Copper Treasure) finished fourth and was followed by Light Em Up Corona APHA (Fire And Corona- Jungle Jane), Sturgis APHA (Dos Poruno-Biker Chick), Macies Dos Poruno APHA (Dos Poruno- Snow Me The Paddick), and Wagonette APHA (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-Shawne Chick).

JESSIES FIRST DOWN

Odds-on favorite, Jessies First Down dominated the field for his third stakes win of the 2016 season at the $75,000 Refrigerator Handicap-G1 for
three-year-olds and up at Lone Star Park on Oct. 1. The 5-year-old bay gelding continued his run
of great form for his first Grade 1 victory. He broke fourth from the 1-gate, but quickly established
his superiority over the field, sprinting out to a 1 1/2-length lead halfway down the track. He never lost any ground under Jose Alvarez and won with ease on the 440-yard track. The pair recorded a time of :21.316, earning a 97 speed index.
Ted G. Abrams bred and owns Jessies First Down, whose earnings now extend to $331,907 after running away with the $42,750 winner’s share of the purse. Judd S. Kearl is the trainer.

A Classy Lassy. She has produced 100% money earners from five starters including Grade 1 finalist Jess A Zoomin. Jessies First Down is her first stakes winner with wins in the year’s Sam Houston Classic Handicap-G2, Miami-Dade County Stakes, as well as in the 2015 Hialeah Maturity.
KW Cowboy (Mighty Corona-Tres Dia Noche) finished second under Francisco Calderon for owner K & W Land and Cattle Co. and trainer Brian Stroud. Red Corona Warrior (Coronas Fast Dash-Prairie War Princess) finished third under Noe Villatoro for owner Almada Racing and trainer Josue Ponce.
Bar Struck (Corona For Me-Miss Manolo), Dashin Brown Streak (Hotdoggin-Annas Streakin Dash), JRC Callas First (Winners Award-Calla Missy Jane), Poker Chip 831 (Fantastic Corona Jr-Takeoff Royally), Rockin Disco (Rock Solid Jess-Check This Disco), and If I Were Famous (One Famous Eagle-Runnin Oner Mind) completed the order of finish. Politicaly Correct scratched.
