Jimmie Ray Clocks the Fastest Time of the APHA & Under Speed Index Futurity
Jimmie Ray broke her maiden and won her trial heat by a length for the fastest qualifying time to the $23,700 APHA 79 & Under Speed Index Futurity at Fair Meadows racetrack. Jockey Rolando Raudales rode Jimmie Ray, finishing in :17.201 seconds and clocking a 91 speed index. Michelle Hurdle trains the 2021 sorrel solid mare by CRM Livewire and out of Country Judy for owner/breeder Jimmie Abraham. Congratulations to all the connections. Finals take place June 24.
Paint Racing in the Northwest Is Right Around the Corner

Lone Star Park Dates Changed for the 2023 Race Season
The Grade 1 Texas Hero Futurity Trials
will run on October 28 with finals in mid- November. Don’t miss your chance to run for a $50,000-added race with an additional $15,000 to accredited Texas-bred Paints. The first payment of $200 is due August 15. For more information, contact the Texas Paint Horse Breeders Association.

Tiffany Lujan Wins Big at the Beach
Dinero Y Playas, this year’s third TPHBA- sponsored barrel race with $3,500 added, was
a success, attracting 30 PBRIP entries and 650 open barrel runs. Congratulations to Tiffany Lujan and 1D Paint Horse champion Chase
My Ace, who won more than $5,500 over the weekend. The next $3,500 PBRIP event will be September 13-16 during the Breeders Challenge Finals in Fort Worth, Texas.
The PBRIP Sweepstakes Are Finally Here! Sponsored by APHA and TPHBA, the PBRIP Sweepstakes are coming to
Fort Worth, Texas, on July 8 in conjunction
with the APHA World Show. The PBRIP Open and SPB Barrel Racing Sweepstakes offer a total of $30,000 added plus a $5,000 Texas-bred incentive paid to the Top 10 fastest times of horses foaled in Texas. There will also be a $5,000 PBRIP Futurity sidepot, and a $1,000 PBRIP sidepot offered in the Barrel Racing 18 & Under World Championship class.
