Mexican Breeders José Ángel Ambrosio Medina Futurity Consolation
POURIN TO DASH
by Luis Prieto Zamudio, translation by Eduardo Silveyra
This race was dedicated to José Ángel Ambrosio Medina, as part of the cel- ebration of The Day of the Jockey at the Hipodromo de las Américas. The partici- pants were obtained from the horses that did not qualify at the trials carried out on Nov. 24. They ran for 400 yards and the prize assigned was $229,630 pesos (approx. $11,927 U.S.).
The gelding Pourin To Dash settled around the center of the track, gaining ground until reaching the finish line first
by 1/2-length over N Kainalo, with which
he had an old score to settle having defeated him previously in the qualifying races of this futurity. It was a job well done by jockey Heriberto Camacho as they finished with
a time of :19.59, which was good for a 93 speed index, substantially improving the :19.95 obtained three weeks before.
Bred by Alejandro Arenas Badillo, Pourin To Dash is by Pourin Corona and out of Cathys To Dash by Ichin To Dash. In his seven starts at the track, Pourin To Dash has obtained four wins and three second place finishes, as well as accumulating earnings
of $330,095 pesos. The gelding is owned by the Quinta Lety, and was saddled by trainer Luis Eduardo Flores Gómez.
In the 2018 Select Yearling Sale, Pourin To Dash sold for $50,000 pesos (approx. $2,563 US); sold at that price, it was an excellent investment.
At the award ceremony, jockey José Ángel
Ambrosio Medina for whom this race was dedicated, accompanied by his wife and children, received his diploma and a statuette in recognition of his career
at the Hipodromo de las Américas, where he has won several championships. This year will be no exception, because in 277 mounts he accumulated 1,546 points, the highest number of the season in his division.
N Kainalo (Native Cartel-The Kainala) closed in second place under Efraín González. Bred by Hacienda Santiago Ranch, N Kainalo is owned by Cuadra Casa Blanca and trained by Joel Mújica Sarubbi.
BR Princesa Del Sur (Southern Corona- Regal Fortune) and Yair Daniel Báez
Soto were third for owner Rancho San Antonio AJH and trainer José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar.
Sola Latina (Senior Solo-Shes A Toll), Bronce Jess (Jesstified-Ziplock Chick), Brillante Primavera (Long Gone-Shine On You), Cheetah On Eagles (Cheetah Woods-KR On Eagles), BR Cartel Del Sur (Southern Corona-Jessaspecialeffort), The Eagle Winner (This Eagles Gone-The Perfect Maid) and Fearless Arenita (Fearless Fritz-Teller Jessie) completed the order of finish.
To Dash.
