lone star Park oPens
Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Texas, opens
its fall Quarter Horse meet on Sept. 16. The track recently announced that it will allow horses shipping from Ruidoso Downs to enter the stable area after Ruidoso Downs lifted it quarantine on EHV-2.
A letter on the Horsemen’s page of Lone Star
Park website states: “Horsemen are reminded that we continue to require to all horses admitted to or already in the stable area to have a current (90 day) FDA approved EHV-1 vaccine or EHV-1 booster. Vaccine information must be noted on the health certificate for admittance to Lone Star Park’s stable area.
“All trainers and horse haulers are urged to take extreme caution when transporting horses to properly disinfect and sanitize their trailers if there is any chance they may have transported an exposed horse. We also stress the importance of everyday biosecurity methods for all horsemen to continue to follow.”
Lone Star’s 26-day fall meet runs through Nov. 12 and features eight stakes for Quarter Horses. The track will also host stakes for Arabians, Paints and Appaloosas
during the meet, including the Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1. Racing will be conducted Thursday-Saturday with first post each night at 6:35 p.m. Visit www.lonestarpark.com for the latest information.

Eyema Blue Wagon, who crossed the wire first, is owned by Regal Racing Stables, LLC and trained by Albert Franco. Groupie James, who crossed the wire third in the final, is owned by Carlos Trujillo Jr. and trained by Jose Ramirez, Sr. Both horses are now listed as unplaced in the West Texas Futurity-G2.

The American Quarter Horse Association’s Bank of America Challenge Championships will be held Oct. 29-30 at Los Alamitos. Per track rules, horses competing in the Challenge Championship races will be required to be on the grounds no later than Oct. 12.
AQHA has announced that, as a condition of eligibility for the Challenge Championship races, AQHA and Los Alamitos Race Course in cooperation with the California Horse Racing Board will require out-of-competition

The presence of clenbuterol can be determined
by testing hair samples at the University of California Davis Maddy Lab. UC Davis provides post-race sample
