LOS ALAMITOS - SALES
   The 17th annual Los Alamitos Equine Sale saw record numbers on Oct. 2-3, including a sale record of $520,000. This year, 206 of the 248 horses offered sold for $6,285,000, compared to the 2020 sale that saw 237 horses selling for $5,153,800. Overall, 198 yearlings sold for an average of $21,103, which was an increase over 2020. A total of eight yearlings sold for $100,000 or more, while 30 sold for $50,000 or more.
The record breaking $520,000 high seller was Hip #247 So So Beau- tiful (Favorite Cartel-Remember Me Rose, Corona Cartel), a 2020 sorrel filly consigned by Burns Ranch, Inc., agent and purchased by Linda Gordon. The filly is a full sister to Grade 1 stakes winners Powerful Favorite, Runforyourlife and Cyber Monday. She is out of AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose. So So Beautiful becomes the highest selling Quarter Horse in California since Masters Call was purchased
for $485,000 at the 2006 Los Alamitos Equine Sale. Consignor Burns Ranch, Agent was the sale’s leading consignor/agent, Linda Gordon the sale’s leading buyer, and Favorite Cartel sired the top seven sellers.
The sale’s second-high seller was Hip #268 Hilarious (Favorite Cartel-Nymph, Foose), a 2020 colt consigned by Edward C. Allred and purchased by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC. The colt is a full brother to graded stakes winner Monopolist, who won last year’s PCQHRA Breed- ers Futurity-G2.
      Hip #247, So So Beautiful, was the high seller at $520,000 consigned by Burns Ranch Inc., Agent, purchased by Linda Gordon.
Hip #268, Hilarious, was the second highest seller at $240,000 consigned by Edward Allred, purchased by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC.
