Salvador Oñate Classic
AS MACHO.

On the Sept. 12 card, this classic open for Mexican breds three years old and older was contested, in which nine runners
participated at 350 yards to dispute a purse of $208,500 pesos ($10,383 U.S. approx.).
DK Sato Cartel was the only three year
old among the other horses, most notably five-year-old AS Macho who was coming off an 11-month break. This pair put on a great race in the classic with a spectacular finish, where AS Macho won by difference of a head, reliving past glories.
It was José Ángel Ambrosio Medina, his starting jockey, who was in charge of directing him through the center of the track to cover the distance in :17.37 (SI 88). This is his 11th win in 16 starts, and added $104,250 pesos (U.S. approx. $5,191) to his account.
A quick review of his record reveals that he is the winner of the Garañones Futurity, the Mexican Breeders Futurity and the correspond- ing derby, in addition to having placed second in the Mexico Futurity, in the Subasta Selecta Futurity and in the Mexico Derby, perfor- mances in which he has accumulated earnings that already exceed $5.9 million pesos.
The gelding was bred by Arturo A. Siller Berain and is the product of the crossing of California Cartel with Check This Star Out (by Check Him Out). He belongs to the Cuadra Falcón and was trained by Liderme René Gómez Díaz.
The colt DK Sato Cartel (Danny Cartel-Six Royal Alibis, by Sixes Royal) gave
a good performance that allowed him to place second at the finish, being led by jockey Yair Daniel Báez Soto. He belongs to Rancho San Pedro PZH and was saddled by Gonzalo Bastida Pacheco.
Third place went to

ridden by Paul Osvaldo
Rodríguez García. The colt is owned by Rancho Don Memo and is trained by Adán López Alejandre.
Pantera Down Dash (Aguerrido-La Pantera Gris), SE Adalidas Quest (Zest Quest- Adalidas Partner), SE Winner Waters (Waters
Edge-Brimming Winner), Takin Six Glory (Glory Six-Takin Care), Bela Is Dancer (Ze Dancer-Isabela Eyesa) and Fenomenal Party (Southern Corona-Party Wave) completed the order of finish.
