Town Policy had a stellar freshman season that included wins in the Kindergarten, Fresno & Pomona futurities as well as in the Bardella Stakes for owner Ivan Ashment, trainer Blane Schvaneveldt and jockey Kenny Hart.
Town Policy broke his maiden on June 7, 1977, then 10 days later won the Bardella Stakes.
Town Policy won the $115,100 Kindergarten Futurity on July 23, 1977.

After winning the Fresno
Futurity in Oct. 1977, Town Policy disappeared and was later discovered in Mexico looking very poor. He was brought back to
the states where he recovered, won his trial and then the finals of the Los Alamitos Derby (left) in record time and to a standing ovation on June 3, 1978.
