William E. Smith bred EC Revenge in Oklahoma from unraced SS Pamilla. The mare hails from strong bloodlines. She is out of 2006 Remington Futurity-G1 winner First Prize Robin, who also produced 2013 Speedhorse Derby-G3 winner SS Calendar Girl. EC Revenge’s third dam is 2006 Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, a full sister to World Champion First Down Dash and the dam of six stakes winners.
Logan enjoys racing horses so much that she is even trying her hand at breeding them. She owns the Paint mare Imakickenchicken, who
is out of a half-sister to Paint World Champion Flashthechicks. Logan bred Imakickenchicken to Docs Best Card, “and I got a dandy little filly,” she said.
Pepper Ryan (One Dashing Eagle-Itea), also bred by Smith and owned by Smith and Ky Luddington, finished second. Randy Edison piloted the gelding for trainer Heath Taylor. Pepper Ryan won his trial to qualify seventh- fastest for the final.
Ricky Ramirez finished third with Southern Fast Succes (Cartel Success-Southern Fast Lady). Trey Wood trains Southern Fast Succes for owner Dennis Dreier. Southern Fast Succes won his trial to qualify eighth-fastest for the final.
Always Charging (Coronado Cartel-Charm Dance) was fourth and was followed by DF Zookie Cookie (Hes Relentless-Tres Seis Folszookie), Rrelentless (Hes Relentless-First A Princess), Clean Brew (Corona Cartel-Theslatesclean), TF Kates TLC (The Louisiana Cartel-Xo Kate), Separate Party (Seperate Interest-Corona Party Girl) and Sizzling Fajita (Apollitical Jess-Anita Fajita).
