The 19th annual Los Alamitos Equine Sale saw 168 head
sell for gross receipts of $5,710,000 with an average of $33,989, representing the second highest average figure for the Los Alamitos Sale, just behind last year’s record of $38,122. Thirteen yearlings sold for $100,000 or more with 25 selling for $50,000 or higher.
“We’ve seen so many outstanding yearlings go through the Los Alamitos Equine over the last three years and it’s been great to see buyers from all across North America respond so positively to these impressive racing prospects,” said Dino Perez, PCQHRA business manager.
The $320,000 high seller was Hip #210 Rose Beaukay (Favorite Cartel-Remember Me Rose, Corona Cartel), a filly consigned by Burns Ranch, Agent and purchased by Reliance Ranches, LLC. She is a full sister to Champion Cyber Attack and Grade 1 stakes winners Bomb Cyclone, Powerful Favorite, Runforyourlife, and Cyber Monday. Rose Beaukay is out of AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose.
The sale’s second-high seller at $250,000 was Hip #80 Wire Fraud (Favorite Cartel-Bartiromo, Walk Thru Fire) consigned by Burns Ranch, Agent and purchased by Felix A. Gonzalez. He is a full brother to Grade 2 stakes placed Mornings With Maria.
Burns Ranch, Agent led all consignors with 56 horses selling for $3,032,200. Reliance Ranches, LLC was the leading buyer, purchasing five horses for $742,000. Corona Cartel was the leading sire of yearlings by average of two or more with two yearlings selling for an average price of $118,500.
