Appaloosa Championship Futurity Trials
Roman Cruz is aboard JS Apollitical Chick for the win in the first trial.
Trial #1
Race #2 – JS Apollitical Chick (#2) broke in third and made a steady drive throughout the 400 yards, getting clear of the field to cross the wire 3/4-length in front for the fastest qualifying time. JS Successful Chicken (#9) broke towards the back of the field but made some strong strides late in the race to cross the wire in second by a nose for the third qualifying spot. Wired Red Head (#5) finished in third for the fourth fastest time, followed by Muddy Puddles (#4) finished fourth for the seventh qualifying spot and Clutch Shot (#6) was fifth for the final qualifying spot.
Roman Crus leads JS Quick Chili to victory in Trial #2.
Trial #2
Race #3 – JS Quick Chili (#8) broke in fourth but made a huge effort to cross the wire with an impressive 1 1/4-length lead, grabbing the second fastest time. Storms Livewire (#5) finished in second for the fifth qualifying spot. In third was Eagle Express (#2) for the sixth qualifying spot and was followed by BP The Hero (#3) in fourth for the eighth fastest time and Triple L Xpress (#6) in fifth for the ninth qualifying spot.
