Heza Fast Dash was chosen to appear on moved up the leading sire charts and once again
the cover of the 2015 Stallion Register for many reasons. Owned by Heza Fast Dash Syndicate,
the 1998 bay stallion is an all-time leading sire
of money earners from nine crops to race and a current year leading sire in all categories. In fact, he has been among the leading sires every year since he was retired to stud, and in 2013 topped the charts as the leading sire of money earners.
Heza Fast Dash was bred by Weetona Stanley of Madill, Oklahoma. The bay colt was sired by Heza Fast Man, a Champion runner and a Champion sire of more than $13.4 million in earners. Heza Fast Dash is out of the Dash For Cash mare First Prize Dash, an AQHA Dam of Distinction and Broodmare of the Year who is the only horse to be buried at Heritage Place in Oklahoma City. First Prize Dash, a full sister to World Champion and all-time leading sire First Down Dash, was a finalist in the All American Derby-G1 and earned $77,465 on the track before moving to the broodmare band where she continued to excel. She has produced
42 race age foals, 34 starters, 27 winners and 29 Register of Merit earners. Her runners read like a who’s who of racing, and include six stakes winners and four stakes placers with total earnings of more than $2.3 million. Her grandget include even more stakes winners and New World Record setters.
From a family like this, it was not surprising that Heza Fast Dash was destined for greatness. Racing from the age of two to four, the colt won three of 18 starts, including the Blue Ribbon Futurity-G2. He also finished second in the Remington Park Futurity-G1, and was a finalist in the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Derby. He earned $136,123 on the track before moving to stud.
Heza Fast Dash was an immediate success as he stood his first year in 2003, and he has been a leading sire in each of his foal crops to race. His foals hit the ground in 2004, and this first crop made Heza Fast Dash the #2 Leading Freshman sire of 2006. The following year, Heza Fast Dash

was both a leading sire and leading sophomore
sire of 2007 with the earners of more than $1.23 million that year. And again in 2008, Heza Fast Dash earned leading sire and leading third-year sire status with the earners of over $1 million. In the years to follow, Heza Fast Dash continued to top the leading sire charts: $1.82 million in 2009, $2.64 million in 2010, $2.19 million in 2011, and $2.74 million in 2012. And then in 2013, he led all other sires and made it to the very top when he sired money earners of more than $3.7 million.
There’s a trend with Heza Fast Dash that keeps rolling and rolling. Clearly he has incredible siring power. And, mare owners believe in him. This year, Heza Fast Dash yearlings continue
to be top sellers at major sales. At the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Yearling Sale in August, Heza Fast Dash sired the $130,000 top seller and was the broodmare sire of the $120,000 second-highest seller. In all, Heza Fast Dash was either the sire or broodmare sire of 11 of the top 50 sellers at the sale, with his yearlings selling for an average of more than $25,000.
At press time, Heza Fast Dash has 2014 money earners of over $2.64 million, with total progeny earnings of nearly $19 million, and average earnings per starter of more than $36,000. He is the sire of
11 stakes winners this year alone, including these 2014 graded stakes winners: Vals Fortune Stakes- RG2 winner MCM Dashmaster; Dash For Cash Derby-G3 winner Dashin For A Prize; Remington Distance Handicap-G3 winner Emperor Valerian; and Louisiana Classic-RG2 winner Fast Talkin Henry, who set a New Track Record this year for 400-yards at the Fair Grounds. Heza Fast Dash is also the sire of the co-high seller at this years Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Fall Mixed Sale.
Heza Fast Dash has done some impressive things on the track, as a sire, as a broodmare sire, and as a sire of sale horses. We are expecting more great things from this important stallion.
