Effort N Results, a homebred son of Shame On Charlie owned by Terry Bill Adams, scored his first stakes victory in the February 23, $100,000 Red Hedeman Mile Stakes for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old Thoroughbreds at Sunland Park.
Ridden by Ken Tohill, Effort N Results broke in 7th from the 4-post in a field of ten. The gelding raced unhurried early, advanced five wide through the second turn and secured his lead in the final stretch, crossing the wire 3/4-length in front. Prepped by Joel Marr, Effort N Results cov- ered the one-mile sprint in :1:39.45.
The gelding became the first black-type stakes winner and starter from just two foals produced by Happy N Harmony, a winning 9-year-old daughter of Desert God, who finished second in the 2014 New Mexico Breeders’ Oaks.
Effort N Results traces back to her sec- ond dam, winner and third in the Kachina Stakes Freeze Em Out, a half-sister to New Track Record Setter Nuclear Assembly, winner of the TTA Sales Futurity and Pioneer Stakes. She also finished second in the Middleground Stakes and Harold V. Goodman Sprint Stakes (R)

The stallion is owned by Barbara Brown and stands for a private treaty at The Quarter Company.

Trained by Todd Fincher, Evacuee is a brown son of the Pulpit stallion Abstraction campaigned by the Abstraction Partnership. Evacuee won the New Mexico State Fair Futurity last year.
