All American Juvenile winner and Texas Classic Futurity third-place finisher Danjer (FDD Dynasty-Shez Jess Toxic) came into the Ruidoso Derby finals with the second fastest time after winning his trial heat.
In the finals, he ran well and was a game second for his team of owners Downtime Enterprises LLC, Billy G. Smith and Dean Frey, who also trains the gelding. Cody Jensen was in the saddle.
Three-time winner CDS Wine N Dine (FDD Dynasty-Jess Adoration) came into the finals after winning his trial heat wire-to- wire for the third fastest qualifying posisiton. In the finals, he finished third under Jesse Levario for owner German Amaya and trainer Jimmy Guerra.
Flying Cowboy 123 (Apollitical Jess- Hot Cash 123) finished in fourth position and was followed by Midday News (FDD
Dynasty-Summer Love Song), Lynnder 16 (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen),
Song Of The C Bird (PYC Paint Your Wagon-BB Southern Policy), Pilot Points Moon (First Moonflash-Ms Pilot Point) and CD Rowdy James (Ivory
James-Roughian). Smokeonthewater was scratched.
