Direct Win sired five ROM racehorses in his first crop with three of them running the old speed classification of AAA and one AA runner. The AA runner was La Galla Win, a Vessels bred mare that was out of La Gallina V.
La Gallina V was purchased by Vessels, and her breeder and pedigree are unknown. She was the dam of nine registered foals, six performers, three earning a racing ROM. Her foals earned $28,756, including her leading money winner Dr Two Bits ($17,907). This horse ran in 102 races with 17 wins, 10 seconds, and 15 thirds.
La Galla Win started 47 times with five wins, two seconds and three third place finishes. She was rated AA on the track and she earned $2,327 as a racehorse. She became the dam of 10 foals, 3 ROM, one stakes placed, and one stakes winner. The stakes placed runner was Joe Win by Joe Blair. He was third in three stakes races, including the Juvenile Handicap in 1962. He started 40 races with seven wins, four seconds and eight third place finishes. He earned $3,949.
La Galla Win was owned by Les Gosselin and his son Bob in Oklahoma when she foaled Joe Win. They then bred her to
Go Man Go, who was standing with the Gosselins, thus producing Go Galla Go in 1961. Go Galla Go was La Galla Win’s stakes winner. The Gosselins sold Go Man Go to the Vessels Stallion Farm in 1961.

The sire of Direct Win is With Regards, who is out of Loose Foot, tracing back to Man O’War (above), who is considered to be one of the greatest Thoroughbred racehorses of all time.

Vessels bred La Galla Win to Go Man Go to produce the 1961 mare Go Galla Go (above), the dam of 1970 Champion Rocket Wrangler, the sire of 2-time World Champion Dash For Cash.
