He also was third in the Paint The Town Futurity and Lorelei Paint Derby, fourth in the Lorelei Paint Futurity, and a finalist in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity. Royal Quick Flash is the #1 all-time leading Paint sire of money earners with over $7.3 million, including 599 wins and 92 stakes wins.

2015 Paint gelding Bully Pulpit (CRM Livewire- Judys Apollo, Apollo TB) recently died. Racing from 2017 through 2022, the 7-time Champion won 17 races and earned $319,909 including the PSBA Futurity-G1, Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, PSBA Derby-G1, Spots N Dots Handicap-G1 (3-times), and Sequoyah Stakes (twice). Bully Pulpit earned a 103 speed index and was stakes placed 12 times and a stakes finalist 7 times. Bully Pulpit was bred by Chuck Bowlan and was owned by Dan and Kaye Jones. “He brought our family and friends so much joy! To watch him run an 870-yard race was a sight to behold especially because he always won! He has a fan club and many are children; he will be so missed,” stated Kaye.

(Aug. 26) Two-time graded stakes winner The Louisiana Cartel (Corona Cartel-The Louisiana Girl, Louisiana Slew TB) died at the age of 15 due to ongoing health issues. The 2007 brown stallion won the Sam Houston Championship Challenge-G2 and the Sam Houston Classic Handicap-G2, as well as the Manor Downs Colt & Gelding Maiden Allowance. He also finished third in the Firecracker Derby and was a finalist in two graded stakes events. The Louisiana Cartel was the leading second crop sire in 2016 and among the leading sires each year he stood at

stud. From eight crops to race, he is the sire of 49 blacktype earners and over $9.4 million, including 2-time Champion EC Jet One who won the All American Derby-G1. Bred by Jumonville Farms and Guillory Brothers, The Louisiana Cartel was the property of Jorge Haddad, who was also his trainer, and had been standing at the Louisiana Center for Equine Reproduction. “This horse
has been a blessing for me and my family,” said Haddad. “All I can say is that he was a once in a lifetime horse and I’m lucky to have owned him.”

PYC FIRST FANCY LEE
(Sept. 29) PYC First Fancy Lee (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First Prize Fancy, Mr Jess Perry) died due to colic complications. The 2010 bay stallion won five of 18 starts, earned $57,916, and was a finalist in the Rocky Heinzig Memorial. He was a full brother to five
stakes horses, including PYC Fun N Fancy ($478,760). From just one crop of eight 2022 two year olds, PYC First Fancy Lee is the sire of 100% money earners and one blacktype runner in Heavven Lee, who finished second in the 2022 Speedhorse Derby and earned $62,397. PYC First Fancy Lee was owned by Oswaldo Simental and was set to stand the 2023 season at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

(Sept. 30) 2006 black stallion Jet Black Patriot (Game Patriot-First Down Hemp, First Down Jewel) died due to complications from colic. Raced only as a two year old, Jet Black Patriot won seven of nine starts and three stakes events, including the LQHBA Futurity-RG1, Lee Berwick Memorial Louisiana Futurity-RG1 and the Mardi Gras Futurity-RG2. He also finished second in the All American Futurity and was fourth in the Southwest Juvenile Championship-G1. He set a New Track

the sire of over $17.5 million in earners with 68 blacktype runners and $27,659 average earnings per starter. The stallion began his breeding career at Robicheaux Ranch, was purchased by Copper Spring Ranch in 2017, and stood his first season at Double LL Farm in 2020. “Jet Black Patriot undoubtedly made his mark in the racing world. His genetics greatly improved the breed and
the sport,” Copper Spring Ranch said in a Facebook post.

at stud at Bob Moore Farms in Oklahoma. Owned by Jeff Adams, Signs Of Livewire
was undefeated from six starts in 2023 – his first year to race. The colt earned $217,811 winning the 2022 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 – all of them wire-to-wire and as the fastest qualifier. He was trained by Dee Keener and ridden in all his races by Jesus Salazar. He is the #1 leading Paint money earner of 2022 and ranks #12
on the all-time Paint money earners list. “Unfortunately, despite the best of efforts, Signs Of Livewire continued to decline,” said Bob Moore Farms manager Mikayla Yonkers after the horse underwent surgery due to a career ending injury. “Our hearts are broken, not only for our friend and client, Jeff Adams, but for the loss of such a fine stallion. In a very short time, he won us all over with his kind demeanor and personality.”
