and working with good trainers. “It’s hard to pinpoint one person who has influenced us more than another,” Conda says. “Our partners and trainers have all participated and we couldn’t have done it without them.”
They do raise a few babies through foal sharing and other means, including two of Kiss My Hocks’ Top 10 earners: Hock It To You with partners Tyler
and Naia Graham, and Pink Kiss with partner Bullard Farms.
THEIR CURRENT INTERESTS
In 2022, Conda and Judy had
an interest in nine horses and this coming year their roster holds eight. “Horse racing is a difficult business,” Judy says. “It takes a significant investment and a lot of patience. You can have the best horse on the track and still not win; it takes a lot of hard work and a lot of luck.”
When they aren’t involved in talking horses or watching their horses train, Conda and Judy enjoy entertaining visitors. “Living up here in the beautiful mountains, we’re a pretty popular destination for friends,” Judy says. “We get a lot of visitors, and we really enjoy spending time with them.”
“When people walk into their house in Ruidoso, Conda will tell them, ‘Thanks to Toby and Cindy, this is our home, because of Kiss My Hocks,’” Toby says.
What their success boils down to, adds Clint, is that good things happen to good people. “And if there were ever two good people who go together, it’s Conda and Judy Maze.”
