Hotwiredotcom Leads Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Standings
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa
Triple Crown awards two Champions - the Triple Crown Champion and the High
Point Champion. This year marks the sixth Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown.
In 2017, the first and second legs of the Triple Crown were won by different horses; therefore, we will not have a Triple Crown Winner. The Speedhorse Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity will determine the winner of the Triple Crown High Point Champion. To be eligible for the Triple Crown High Point Champion award, the horse must enter and qualify for all three races and will receives points according to finishing positions in each race.
The first leg, the $200,000 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, was won by the Paint gelding Bully Pulpit (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo, Apollo TB) at Remington Park on June 3. Hotwiredotcom finished second in this race, and Dashin Turnpike was third.
The second leg was the $92,100 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 29 and
was won by the Expressions N Snow
(SM Country Snowman-Expressions
In Snow QH, SC Chiseled In Snow), but the Paint filly did not enter the first leg, so is ineligible for the Triple Crown. Ima Good Time Charlie was second and Hotwiredotcom took third.
The third and final leg of the Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Triple Crown is $75,000 estimated Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 to be
run at Lone Star Park, with the trials on October 13 and the finals on October 28.
There are only two horses still eligible for the Speedhorse Triple Crown High Point Champion award. As is it stands now following the second leg, Hotwiredotcom (CRM Livewire-Iwilliewantarunner
QH, Willie Wanta Dash) leads the point standings with 17, and Bully Pulpit sits close behind in third with 16 points.
The Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Champion will receive a crystal trophy and additional awards, including a $5,000 cash bonus.
Good luck to all participating in the final leg in the Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1!
