Q: What is your favorite thing about living where you live?
A: I live just outside of Austin, Texas. The beautiful weather of central Texas is unbeatable, especially after going through Canadian winters!
Q: If you could vacation anywhere
on the planet, where would it be and what would you do there?
A: I’ve been blessed to have traveled to many places around the world. Beside Canada, I’ve lived in Sri Lanka and England. I loved it—and had easy vacation access to Europe and Asia while living there. While there are some “favorite” spots, I cannot just pick one. I still have a few places on my bucket list to see, so the jury is out
until they get checked off! Maybe it’s a sign of “getting older”, but I would overwhelmingly say my favorite spot is right at home.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote and, if so, what is it?
A: One of my favorites from Oswald Chambers: “Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God, Whose ways you may not understand at the time. We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.”
Q: Who’s your favorite athlete of all time, and why?
A: In the world of horse racing, I would have to say Secretariat...for all the reasons why he
is the iconic name for those in and out of the horse industry.
Q: What’s one thing you don’t like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: The current situation in Texas is tough and, sadly, I think the struggle to survive is wearing on people. It takes the “fun” out of racing when the news is often doom and gloom on an unknown future.
Q: What’s one thing you like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: I like many things about Quarter Horse racing, but the one thing I LOVE is the people and the network of friendships that we all have.
