4. For any registration with the New Mexico Horse Breeders Association, your annual membership dues must be paid before registry. Dues expire December 31st of each year.
USE FORM #400 FOR MEMBERSHIP DUES PAYMENT
5. Thoroughbred Breeder of record is the owner of the dam at time of foaling. Starting with foals born in 2019, the Quarter Horse Breeder of record is the owner of the dam at time of conception. The breeder of record for all foals prior to 2019 is the owner of the dam at the time of foaling.
6. If you have "leased" a horse for any purpose and wish to register it with the Breeders Association, a copy of the "LEASE" must be enclosed with the registration application.
7. Registration as a New Mexico Bred IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL OUR OFFICE HAS RECEIVED FROM YOU THE ORIGINAL FOAL CERTIFICATE FOR FINAL APPROVAL AND STAMPING.
Your foal is not eligible to enter a New Mexico Bred race until its certificate has been stamped by this office.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE YOUR FOALS REGISTERED AND FOAL CERTIFICATES STAMPED AHEAD OF TIME.
8. We DO NOT require the foal certificate for registering broodmares (Form #200) and stallions (Form #300). We DO require a COPY of the registration papers.
9. The Breeders Association will pay Stallion Owner Awards to the owner as listed on the Stallion Registration Application. If you have registered a stallion with the Association, it is your responsi- bility to notify the Association immediately of a change in ownership. The Association will not be held responsible for payment of award monies to previously registered owners as a result of your failure to notify the Association of change in ownership of the Stallion in a timely fashion. If you buy or sell a stallion, NOTIFY OUR OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.
