3 months?! In the end, my daughter will win, so for now we are just taking it step by step.”
However, even with her concerns as a par- ent, Amanda does have hopes and dreams that are rooted in racing. She would like to make
a name for herself. “Not John’s daughter, or Russel’s wife, just Amanda. I’d like to win a
graded stake. And somewhere down the line, the All American or the Texas Classic. I’d also like to keep my percentage of in the money as good as my dad’s.”
It sounds like Amanda not only has the background, but also has the aspirations to be successful in making her own mark in the
racing industry. We wish her the best. In closing, as I always do, I asked
Amanda if she could write a book about her own life story, what would it be called? Hers would be penned, “Carnival Ride.” How many of you seasoned horsemen can relate to that? I know I can.
