Q: What is your favorite thing about living where you live?
A: In the winter I can see the snow on the Sandia Mountains and be in Albuquerque and the sun will be shining. I love the changing of seasons. Fall is my favorite time of the year.
Q: If you could vacation anywhere on the planet, where would it be and what would you do there?
A: Haven’t thought about it. Growing up,
we never took family vacations so it isn’t something I plan for. In the summer we went to 4-H events, horse shows and the racetrack, so we saw points of interest in the towns and states we travelled. I loved the San Antonio livestock show and rodeo.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote and, if so, what is it?
A: Treat people the way you would like them to treat you.
Q: If you could sit down and visit with anyone, past or present, who would it be?
A: I can’t single out one person because there are so many that have had an impact on me or inspired me. There would be too many to mention.
Q: What drink would your friends describe you as, and why?
A: Red wine—bold, intense and soft.
Q: Who’s your favorite athlete of all time, and why?
A: Trevor Brazile, for his dedication to the sport of rodeo and work ethic.
Q: If you were making a movie about yourself, who would you cast to play you, and why?
A: Faye Dunaway. Her role in “Bonnie & Clyde” was controversial, but a smash hit. Her success was due to support from her fans and friends.
Q: What’s one thing you don’t like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: So many of the young people don’t seem to be carrying on the family legacy of breeding and racing.
Q: What’s one thing you like about Quarter Horse racing?
A: The diversity of the people you meet and the friendships you develop. Regardless of the involvement, there is the passion for the sport that everyone has.
