the Lee Berwick Memorial Louisiana Bred Futurity-G1 and Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Lassie Futurity-G2. She has earned $637,591.
Jesse James Jr won the First Down Dash Handicap and is graded stakes placed with a second in the Golden State Derby-G1, earning $167,275 on the track. He is the sire of 422 starters, 276 ROM, 25 stakes winners, and earnings of $12,074,964. His leading money earner is Osbaldo, who earned $452,775 and won the Jess Burner Memorial Handicap-RG1.
Apollitical Jess was a World Champion
at three with wins in the Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1 and Champion of Champions-G1. He has earned $1,399,831 as a runner, and he is the sire of 219 starters, 170 racing ROM, 27 stakes winners, and earnings of $10,500,925. His leading money earner is Apollitical Blood, who won the All American Derby-G1 and earned $1,519,800.
As an added note: One Famous Eagle, with $5,933,462 in earnings, was the 2016 #1 leading sire of money earners. His leading money earner is Imperial Eagle, the 2016 All American Futurity-G1 winner. Apollitical Jess, with earnings of $5,248,919, in 2016 was the #2 leading sire of money earners. His leading money earner is Apolltical Chad, winner of the 2016 Ruidoso Futurity-G1.
When we started our look at Top Deck and the million dollar sires, it was pointed
out that the top 20 money earning sires for 2016 included Mr Jess Perry and five of his sons. The five sons are One Famous Eagle, Apollitical Jess, Jesse James Jr, Jess Louisiana Blue and One Sweet Jess. One Sweet Jess is the winner of the 2010 Golden State Million Futurity-G1 with earnings of $953,592. From two crops to race, and the third just getting started, he has sired 187 starters, 132 racing ROM, and 12 stakes winners. His leading money earner is Sweet Annie GL ($266,913).
As we look at the Top Deck sire line, we see it is in good hands with the Streakin Six branch of the line especially through Streakin Six’s grandsons Mr Jess Perry and Tres Seis. So just like Three Bars, the Top Deck line continues to influence the breed through a prominent sire line.
