Association and also Reserve Champion in
the Arkansas Rodeo Association. She has been the top in the region for Arkansas. Among all these wins, her biggest was at the 2009 Booger Barter’s “Barrelnanza” in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She piloted Visual Images to prevail over
1,500 other entries, then went on to the World Barrelnanza Finals in Waco, Texas, where
she won the 2D, being 17th fastest of 2,600 entries. Visual Images, named an AQHA Superior Champion and AQHA Region 8 Champion, was Cindy’s third mount to earn over $100,000.
Of her long list of victories, Cindy said that her favorite was aboard Memories To Cherish in the 1999 BFA Progressive Futurity in Ardmore. She recalls, “My hat fell off and had swung over my eyes going to the second barrel, I swatted it away just as I got to the barrel,
and when I turned, the hat swung all the way around my neck again and was over my eyes going to the third! We still won the Futurity!”
Cindy has not competed in three years, pri- marily due to her involvement in producing futuri- ties. She has put her heart and soul into her work as secretary for the Barrel Futurities of America
(BFA), a title she’s held for three years. She has
also assisted in the Fort Smith Futurity, this year marking her fourth year to be their secretary. Cindy emphasizes that she is grateful to both these organizations for their trust and for giving her the opportunities to be of assistance. However, she maintains that she’s not done competing and looks forward to a return to the saddle.
Cindy also added that the ‘need for speed’ isn’t the only thing on her bucket list . . . travel to Hawaii and Alaska are other items among her goals.
In closing, when asked what her favorite thing about the horse industry is, Cindy replied that she loves how people will forget they are competitors and come together as one family when a fellow horseman experiences a tragedy. The thing she likes the least is when she wit- nesses people using horses as a tool and not putting the animal’s needs first.
To sum things up, I inquired what a book about Cindy’s life might be titled. “Patience and Perseverance” was her response. Yes, I believe that is the key to standing the test of time, which Cindy Arnold has done very well.

If you miss your regular payment deadline, you may reinstate your horses by making a double payment of that payment date. This will only be good if the payment is made before the next scheduled payment by a postmarked letter or credit card. If two consecutive payments are missed then the entry will be ineligible, although you may reenter with late payments.
