The 2015 Los Alamitos Equine Sale recorded a slight reduc- tion in figures from last year. Preliminary results for the sale, which was held Oct. 3-4 at the Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, California, report 247 yearlings sold for $4,343,000, compared to 243 yearlings selling last year for $4,610,900. The $12,000 yearling median saw a slight 4.4% increase from 2014. In all, 267 horses sold for $4,565,400.
Four yearlings topped six figures, including the top two sell- ers purchased by Abigail K. Kawananakoa. The $150,000 high seller was Hip #228, Staggering Stride (Mr Jess Perry-Dinastia Toll Brz, Tolltac), a sorrel filly consigned by John Andreini, Lazy E Ranch LLC, who is a half-sister to 2-time Champion FDD Dynasty and out of Grade 1 winner Dinastia Toll Brz.
The $120,000 second-highest seller was Hip #229, A
Bit Quirky (Stel Corona-Dont Pass Bar, A Regal Choice). Consigned by Edward C. Allred, the filly is half-sister to mul- tiple Grade 1 winner Quirky.
