The $85,000 co-high seller was Hip #386, Personal Glory, consigned by Jaime H. Gomez and purchased by Vincent P. Genco
The Jan. 21-23 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City had something for everyone, including the crowning of the 2015 American Quarter Horse Association Champions, a medication town-hall meeting hosted by the AQHA, and a reception hosted by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association with a “Race Trackers Reunion” where indi- viduals reminisced and shared old memories and photos.
The 38th annual event saw a 14% decline in the average sale price over last year, as well as a decrease in the median sale price. A downturn in oil prices and a drop in the stock market were cited as reasons for the drops. Despite this, however, 87% of the horses sold.
“We had a strong finish to the sale,” Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney told StallioneSearch. “The average for the final day was 14% below last year’s final session, but we sold 87% of the horses; the demand was strong all the way to the end.
“Heritage Place wishes everyone success with their purchases and we look forward to seeing the sale graduates at the races,” he added.
Two horses took the co-top sellers spots at $85,000:
Personal Glory si 97 (Walk Thru Fire-Suzy Cartel, Corona Cartel) was consigned Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent, and purchased by Vincent P. Genco. Personal Glory, a 2008 sorrel mare, earned $172,554 finishing second in the Lubbock Stakes-G3 and Manuel Lujan Stakes-G3 and third in the Ed Burke Milion Futurity-G1, as well being a multiple graded stakes finalist. Personal Glory, in foal to Mr Jess Perry for 2016, is the dam of 100% money earners from her first two starters.
Undaunted si 90 (Corona Cartel-Jess Genuine, Mr Jess Perry) was consigned by Undaunted 13 and purchased by Hubaldo Solis, Astorga Racing , LLC and Yaneth Cabrera. The 2013 chestnut colt has earned $51,733 so far, finishing second in the 2015 Valley Junction Futurity and third in the 2015 Rainbow Juvenile.
