Registration Requirements for Stakes Races
To establish eligibility to participate in stakes races, effective Jan. 1, 2013, all horses must meet the following requirements.
1. Regular Registry Horse - must have at least
one APHA Registered Paint Horse in the 1st
generation.
2. Solid Paint-Bred Horse - must have two
APHA Regular Registry Paint Horses in the 1st generation or at least one APHA Regular Registry Horse in the 1st generation and at least one Regular Registry Paint Horse in the 2nd generation.

Information on Double Registered Horses
When registering your American Paint Horse and if it will be registered with the American Quarter Horse Association be sure to select a name that is acceptable at both registries. If you plan to race, all double registered horses must be named the same at APHA and AQHA. The horse will not be allowed to race at all if the names are not the same.
Important Changes and Update
The following changes will be implemented for the remainder of the Remington meet and year due to the pandemic and closings. Remington Park elected to remain open and continue racing as an advocate of the horsemen in lieu of shutting down completely and that the OQHRA’s quick implementation of the changes will help in preserving added monies to the future years racing. • Overnights and stakes races will be cut by
40% starting 3/18/20.
• This effects Futurities, Derbies, and
Oklahoma Bred money.
• The Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa
Futurity-G1 will run with $50,000 added
instead of the $100,000 added.
• Fair Meadows Tulsa and Will Rogers Downs
will be affected as well, but it is unknown at this time. Full concentration is focused on Remington Park at this time.
Get your 2-year-old ready for Paint Racing in the Northwest
APHA will be adding a $2,500 Paint Racing Incentive Bonus to the 2020 Harvest Cup Futurity and 2020 Rocky Mountain Futurity Finals. Money will be split 35%-30%-20%-15% to the top 4 Paint fastest times of each race. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to earn some extra cash for racing your Paint in the Northwest.
PBRIP Enrollment Change
Effective Jan. 1, 2020, the PBRIP enrollment period will change to an annual enrollment period, running from January to December.
If you have an active PBRIP enrollment that was purchased between Sept. 2019 and Dec. 2019, the enrollment will roll over to the entire 2020 year as we make this transition; in this case, your renewal will be due by Jan. 2021.
Paint barrel racers: $25,000 has been added to the 2020 PBRIP Sweepstakes by the Texas Paint Horse Breeders Association, including a $5,000 Texas-bred incentive that will be paid to the top 10 fastest times of any Texas foaled horse.
