Cartels Star Daddy’s second dam, the win- ning Sticks An Stones mare Catch This Star, ran third in the 1995 Cherry Creek Futurity (RG3). The gelding traces back to his third dam, Fols Native Star, a daughter of Fol’s Native (TB) who won the Raton Derby at La Mesa Park in ’87.
Cartels Star Daddy was claimed by Orona for $7,500 at Sunland Park on March 2. Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, he has won six of 16 starts and has banked $136,044.
