All told, the gelding has won seven of 35 races -- including the May 7, 6 1/2-furlong Jack Cole Stakes (R) at SunRay Park -- and the winner’s share of the Casey Darnell Stakes purse increased his bankroll to $347,759, of which $164,874 has been earned from six starts since the claim.
On A Warpath finished third, two lengths behind No Pasa Nada, Golden Band, Cerveza, Danz At Colfax, 11-10 favorite Lariat and Hollywood Henry.
A 4-year-old son of Marking owned
by Filiberto Quiroz, Delbert Too banked $20,000 to bring his earnings to $290,109. The bay gelding has won four races, including the January 30, 6 1/2-furlong Jamison Memorial Stakes (R) at Sunland Park.
On A Warpath is a 5-year-old son
of Indian Firewater racing for Amanda Sweeten, who claimed the gelding for $7,500 at Ruidoso Downs on July 24, 2021. The gelding has won four of 24 starts and has banked $194,186.
No Pasa Nada rallied to win the August 21, $100,000 Casey Darnell Stakes (R)
for New Mexico-bred Thoroughbreds at Albuquerque Downs.
Trained by Aurelio Valdez for owner Christopher Nathaniel Roybal, No Pasa Nada covered 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.96 after closing on the fractions of :22.18 and :44.82 established by pacesetter Danz At Colfax. Joree Scriver rode the 6-year-old bay son of Attila’s Storm, who earned the $59,000 winner’s share of the purse from his second lifetime stakes victory.
No Pasa Nada’s winning margin was a half of a length from Delbert Too. The gelding was bred by Robert Driggers and Del Rae Driggers and he is one of 198 winners from 265 starters sired by the late Attila’s Storm.
A son of the Storm Cat stallion Forest Wildcat, Attila’s Storm earned $534,983 from 18 races from 2004-07 and his five wins included the 2007 Toboggan Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct. The stallion has sired 27 black- type stakes winners and the earners of more than $16.7 million from 12 crops, including multiple stakes winners Waltzing Attila, Stormin The Jewels, and Hush Storm.
No Pasa Nada is also one of five winners from as many starters foaled by Charlotte’s
Drone, an unplaced New Mexico-bred daughter of the Full Choke stallion B.G.’s Drone. The gelding is a full brother to
two stakes winners: Bella Dona, a seven- time New Mexico-bred stakes winner and earner of $550,068 from 10 starts, and Tilla Cat, a three-time New Mexico-bred stakes winner from 2016-18. Charlotte’s Drone also produced Lariat, a half-brother to No Pasa Nada who won the 2020 New Mexico Cup Derby Championship (R) at Zia Park.
No Pasa Nada’s second dam, the New Mexico-bred Tilt The Odds mare Charlotte’s Ego, won three stakes in New Mexico from 1997-2001, including the 1997 La Senora Handicap. Bella Dona’s fourth dam, Fanny Falcon, was a New Mexico-bred daughter of the Crimson Satan stallion Crimson Falcon who won the 1981 New Mexican Stakes
at The Downs at Santa Fe. A 1979 foal, Fanny Falcon was a half-sister to the stakes- placed Traffic Mark colt Ernest Pal, and
she produced four winners from six starters, including Stryker Ego, a Bold Ego gelding who won the 1993 Ruidoso Horse Sale Thoroughbred Futurity (R) at Sunland Park.
No Pasa Nada was claimed by Roybal for $12,500 at Sunland Park on February
