  Consigned by Edward C. Allred and purchased by Vince Genco, Agent, the mare Take A Look was the $205,000 high seller
          The 2016 Los Alamitos Equine Sale recorded an increase in the sales average by roughly 12% from the 2015 figures with the brood- mare average doubling from the previous year. Preliminary results for the sale, which was held Oct. 1-2 at Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, California, report 203 yearlings sold for $3,836,300, com- pared to 247 yearlings selling last year for $4,343,000. The $18,900 yearling average saw a 7% increase from the 2015 average of $17,583. In all, 222 horses sold for $4,257,300, excluding repurchases.
The $205,000 high seller was Hip #300, Take A Look (Separatist-Look Her Over, Check Him Out), a four-year-old bay mare consigned by Edward C. Allred, who is a half-sibling to Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1 winner He Looks Hot and is half-sister to the top selling yearling, Hot Looking Guy. Take A Look sold with an embryo by Walk Thru Fire.
The $200,000 second-highest seller was Hip #299 Hot Looking Guy (Walk Thru Fire-Look Her Over, Check Him Out), a sorrel colt who is a half-sibling to high seller Take A Look, and full brother to abovementioned He Looks Hot and stakes winner Once Over.
Both high sellers are out of stakes winner/2014 Speedhorse Broodmare of the Year Look Her Over, a half-sister to Champi- ons Hawkish, Hawkinson and Flame N Flash.
