In spite of the terrible weather the evening of February 20, the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association hosted another very suc- cessful event with members of the Oklahoma Legislature at Heritage Place. Every year during the first weeks of the legislative session, OQHRA invites every member of the House and the Senate to share an evening with our

membership. This year’s dinner was a deli- cious roast pig with all the trimmings. Several of the legislators had questions about the racing industry, and they were also interested in the thoughts of our membership on how they would be affected if some of the bills become law. It was also a great opportunity for OQHRA members to share their support for
some of the legislation being considered.
If you missed this year’s event, or if you
have never had the chance to attend the legisla- tive dinner before, put it on your calendar for the third Tuesday in February of 2019 – it is
a very good opportunity to have a one on one conversation with the people that make the laws in Oklahoma.
