Martha Wells’ homebred Yanque (Favorite Cartel-Red Hawk Chick) finished second under jockey Jorge Bourdieu for trainer Matthew Fales. The gelding won last year’s The Plan Handicap and was a finalist in the 2017 Wild West Futurity and Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG2.
Lisa Anderson’s homebred Moonie Blues (Freighttrain B-Stuckonafeeling) ran third with Eduardo Nicasio in the irons for trainer Jaime Gomez. The filly captured the 2017 Wild West Futurity and finished second in that year’s Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1.
